Below is our current programme of half and full day creative workshops. 

All of our workshops include materials unless otherwise stated. Our half day workshops also include a hot drink and home baked treat while full day workshops include a delicious light lunch.

We can also arrange workshops for groups of family and friends with options for catering and subject.

Workshops 2024

POTTERY BIRD FEEDERS

Friday 10th May 2024 1:00-3:30  £45

Make your own bird feeder with Sidecar Gill!  You can glaze it to your own design and then she’ll take it away to dry and fire.  It will be ready after a couple of weeks.

 

 

PYROGRAPHY

Saturday 11th May 2024 10:30-3:30  £65

Lee Kershaw will be here to take you through the first steps of learning pyrography.  Pyrography is the art of burning images into wood and is an enjoyable and practical art form.  You will be provided with all materials and your own kit to take home.  Suitable for beginners and those with some experience as colour work can be introduced too!

Enjoy a delicious lunch, coffee and cake in the lovely Long Room and learn something new in a supportive environment.

 

MOSAICS

Saturday 25th May 2024 10:30-1:00  £35

In this workshop you are show how to decorate a range of items using mosaic with tiles, broken china and buttons. All tools, tiles and equipment will be provided for you to make unique items. There is a choice of mirror,s plaques, plant pots, mini crates and coasters. There are larger plant pots and boxes also but there is a small additional charge for these to be paid on the day. This is a relaxed session suitable for all skills.

 

Adding Texture to Watercolour

Saturday 8th June 2024 10:30-3:30  £55

Are you an artist looking for a way to add interest to your watercolour paintings?  This is the workshop for you!  Judith Herdman will show you some techiniques in this workshop.  Great for beginners and experienced artists!

 

Two Block Linoprint

Saturday 29th June 2024 10:30-3:30  £55

Diana Fitzpatrick has added another date for her always popular linoprint course.  Learn to cut lino and the use a range of inks and papers to create several pieces of artwork to take home!

Tin Embossing

Saturday 13th July 2024 10:30-3:30  £55

Start making Christmas decorations or create a wreath on your own theme in this new and fun craft session.  Take a range of metals and upcycle into beautiful embossed ornaments.  

DUNES AND GRASSES:  THE JOY OF PAN PASTELS

Saturday 3rd August 2024 10:30-3:30  £55

Pam Stevenson will be using pastels to demonstrate how to create coastal pictures.  Attendees may use their own preferred medium.

Pan pastels are a versatile medium and can be used to create a wide variety of painterly effects.  

Free Motion Machine Embroidery and Applique “Summer Blooms”

Saturday 14th September 2024 10:30-3:30  £55

 

We are very fortunate to welcome back Helen Poremba to teach this amazing workshop.  Learn how to manipulate fabric to create a floral panel.  All materials will be provided and it is recommended that you bring your own machine but we have a couple that can be borrowed.

Monoprint 

Saturday 12th October 2024 10:30-3:30  £55

Discover the world of monoprinting using botanicals.  Plants are inked and put through a press to make an image on paper.  These can be used as stand alone works of art or incorporated into a collage.

Porcelain Christmas Ornaments

Friday 9th November 2024 1:00-3:30  £45

Places are limited for this exciting workshop.  Make and decorate your own Christmas baubles and Gill will take them away to be fired.  You will collect them from the gallery once they are ready!

Christmas Wreath Making

Sunday 1st December 2024 Morning or Afternoon sessions TBC  £40

A GalleryForty5 tradition!  Chris Cann will be taking you through the steps to make a gorgeous natural wreath while you enjoy coffee and a mince pie.  Your wreath will be ready to hang in time for the holidays!
